This form of meditation is designed to develop the skill of paying attention to your inner and outer experiences with acceptance, patience, and compassion.  MBSR promotes the development of stability, inner calmness, and non-reactivity of the mind.  In turn, this allows you to face and embrace the unpleasant or painful aspect of everyday life.  The stability and non-reactivity cultivate in formal practice supports of your ability to become more compassionate human beings.  It will allow you to experience the joys of pure non-reactive presence.  By developing a simple and pure awareness, we learn to disentangle ourselves from our habitual thoughts, emotions and behaviors and connect with experience, with yourself and others in a deeper healthier way.  

Notebook and water should be brought to each class.
